My name is Chet Meeks. I grew up in Rawlins, Wyoming, where my family still lives. I graduated from the University of Wyoming (BS) and the University at Albany, SUNY (PhD). I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2005. I am using this blog to keep my friends and family up-to-date on my condition, and sometimes to comment on current events.

I've never posted on a blog before so let me know if this gets through. First, keep up your prayers regarding the evil gargoyle. We're all hoping that there will be a recount that will result in her banishment!!!!!
I also wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you alot. Although we haven't been in much contact, Sid has kept me up to date over the years. [Of course, you are just one of her boys :)] So let me congratulate you on the new job! And how sad and pissed I am that you are sick.
And now...the offer. I can come to Atlanta if you'd like. I can do whatever...teach some classes, grade, take care of Lexy so that Jodi can be with you (if that's ok with her folks), care for you, buy tuna for that oh-so opinionated housemate of yours, hatever....I'm serious...so let me know.

I am tagging along behind Cathy and seconding everything she has said. We can both come down and keep you company and help out if you would like. And, unlike Cathy, I can spell 'whatever'.
Also, I have been reading over your blog and Tache's entry is hysterical. And so cat-perfect! My own darlings, Sophie and Smudge, totally approve of Tache's attitude. They may be corresponding with her soon.
